چکیده

By making use of a new technique for measuring the complete spatiotemporal electric field of light with micrometer spatial and femtosecond temporal resolution, we directly demonstrate the formation of the so called boundary diffraction wave and Arago’s spot, as well as the superluminal propagation of a “diffrac tion free” pulse. We believe that such spatiotemporally resolved measurements and the time domain treat ment of diffracting waves not only turn out to be useful for modern physical optics, especially in micro and meso optics, but also significantly aid in the understanding of diffraction phenomena in general. Nonlocal thermoelastic semi-infinite medium with variable thermal conductivity due to a laser short-pulse

In this article, the thermoelastic interactions in an isotropic and homogeneous semi-infinite medium with variable thermal conductivity caused by an ultra-short pulsed laser heating based on the linear nonlocal theory of elasticity has been considered. We consider that the thermal conductivity of the material is dependent on the temperature. The surface of the surrounding plane of the medium is...

Diffraction of ultrashort Gaussian pulses within the framework of boundary diffraction wave theory

We study the diffraction of Gaussian pulses and beams within the framework of boundary diffraction wave theory. For the first time the boundary diffraction wave theory is applied to pulsed Gaussian beams, and it is shown that the diffracted field of a pulsed Gaussian beam on a circularly symmetric aperture can be evaluated by a single 1D integration along the diffracting aperture at every point...

Application of Boundary Element Method to 3 D Submerged Structures With Open Ends (RESEARCH NOTE)

This paper presents a three dimensional application of direct Boundary-Element Method (BEM) for computing interaction of sinusoidal waves with a large submerged open bottom structure near the floor with finite depth. The wave diffraction problem is formulated within the framework of linearized potential theory and solved numerically with direct BEM. A computer program based on BEM is developed ...

An Algorithm for Modeling and Interpretation of Seismoelectric Data

Generally speaking, seismoelectric modeling is a prospecting method based on seismic and electromagnetic waves, in which waves generated by a seismic source at the boundary of the two environments generate a relative fluid-solid motion formed as a result of antagonism between the elastic properties of the environment with the saturated fluid. This research has as its objective, a study of the e...

Sensitivity Analysis of Mike21-BW Diffraction Model by using Breakwater Reflection Coefficient

DHI-Mike Software is one of best softwares describing water wave diffraction in onshore/offshore concepts. Diffraction happens due to obstacles along wave direction and has an important role in designing structures. The scope of this study is to show the relation between Porosity Coefficient and its effects on Diffraction Coefficient (Cd) by means of a suitable and verified numerical model. Por...
